Hey ,
Years down the road, are you going to remember how you constantly felt behind and overwhelmed in your business? Or are you going to remember how your business provided you the
gift of time-time to live your life and do what you love most.
You can have that! You can develop simple systems that create more time, more balance, and doesn’t leave you constantly feeling like you’re struggling to find the time to do it all. But… if you're creating a documented system from scratch, you need to identify the things that you're doing in your business repeatedly, with a certain standard and expected outcome.
If you aren’t sure what you should be documenting, check out this blog post about Knowing When It's Important To Create SOPs.
The first thing you need to document are your repeatable tasks and procedures; something that you do in your business over and over and over again. This could be a variety of things, from your lead generation process to blog publishing or new client onboarding. These will look different based on
your business.
There are other things that need to happen regularly in business on a monthly, quarterly, or annual basis. Some of these tasks could be: reviewing your quarterly financial reports, scrubbing passwords, team member reviews, and auditing your workflows and processes.
Now you need to decide how you’re actually going to document those processes. I recommend starting with a task that you already do. You can do a screen-cast recording of you performing the task (I love Loom for this!), you could do a “talking-head style” video recording of you talking through the steps , or you can do it completely in text form as a written document.
Here in the Wulfden we use a combination of written steps, a video walk-through of the task being performed, and include a visual workflow of the process. Everyone learns differently so we like to include several formats for our team to learn from.
Can I offer an easier solution for you?
If all of that sounds like too much for you, just swing right over to the SOP Shoppe and have a look through our pre-written templates and workflows. We have the top 8 SOPs that your business needs to run smoothly
through this holiday season. Each SOP comes with a companion workflow of the process, and they are all customizable to YOUR specific business and process.
